Okotoks Municipal Library offers exam proctoring/invigilation for individuals taking distance education courses, to residents who live within our service area (Town of Okotoks & the Municipal District of Foothills).

Exams may only be written from Monday to Thursday, from 10am and finishing by 4:30pm.

All exam writers will be charged an invigilation fee of $20 per exam, as well as any additional costs incurred (printing, postage, etc.), to be paid on the day of the exam before writing.

 Rules and conditions:

  • Requests should be submitted at least one week before the desired exam date (or in the case of a physical exam sent by mail, at least two weeks).
  • We cannot guarantee that the student will be monitored continuously.
  • Exams must be completed within the scheduled exam period and the allowed time set forth by the institution.
  • Our private examination rooms are located in the children’s section of the library; we are unable to guarantee a completely noise-free environment.
  • We are unable to restrict Internet access during an examination. It is the student’s responsibility to follow their education institution’s policies for internet usage during examination.
  • Scheduling and rescheduling of exam appointments is subject to the availability of the exam proctor.
  • While we will mail and/or scan completed exams in a timely manner, we will not be held responsible for exams that do not reach the institution by the deadline date.
  • The library will not be held responsible for any interruptions to the exam due to unforeseen circumstances such as Internet connection issues, loss of power, or other technical issues.
  • The library does not have a fax machine; exams may be sent through e-mail or physical mail.
  • The library will not be responsible for troubleshooting login or other technical issues.
  • The library does have laptops for student use in online exams; however, scrap paper and other required materials must be provided by the student.
