To place a hold on an item you find in the catalogue, it is important that you login first with your library card barcode and PIN (last 4 digits of phone #).

If on the home page, click in the SEARCH CATALOGUE search bar. If using ADVANCED SEARCH, first select method(s) of searching (title, author, etc.)

Type in the search terms you wich to use and click GO.

Remember to check the format of the item (book, large print, audiobook, etc.) as some items are available in multiple formats.

Click on WHERE IS IT to view the list of available holdings. If your library has a copy and it is checked out or if it is only available at other locations you may place the item on hold.

Click on PLACE REQUEST.

A form will appear on your screen. Your home library will automatically be chosen for you.

Click on SUBMIT REQUEST

The system will advise you if there is a holds list for this item and give you the option of placing yourself on the list or cancelling

If the hold has been placed correctly, you will see the message YOUR HOLD HAS BEEN PLACED

You will now have the option of returning to your search results list

Don't forget to LOG OUT when you are finished!
