Here is the official statement from the Library Board following the adoption of a mask bylaw by Town Council on Monday night:
At their last meeting, the Town of Okotoks Library Board voted in favour of following the decision reached by Okotoks Town Council requiring mandatory mask-wearing in all indoor municipal spaces. As Town Council passed third reading of the bylaw at their August 17th meeting, the Okotoks Public Library will follow their lead and ask that all visitors to the library wear a face-covering as of August 24th.
In keeping with the sentiments of Town Council's bylaw, masking will not be required for "children under the age of two, or resistant children five years and under; persons with medical conditions or disabilities, and employees not working with the public or who are separated by a physical barrier. The focus will be on educating the public."
Individual disposal masks are available (while supplies last) to anyone entering the library.
Town of Okotoks. (2020, August 17). Mandatory masks approved for municipal facilities.
