Exam Proctoring
Okotoks Public Library's Exam Proctoring service is now fully booked for October 2024, and no more exam bookings will be accepted for that month. Thank you for your understanding.
Okotoks Public Library offers exam proctoring/invigilation for individuals taking distance education courses, with priority given for residents who live within our service area (Town of Okotoks & the Municipal District of Foothills). Please note that Okotoks Public Library will not accept invigilation requests for grade school/high school assessments.
Exams are written in our private study rooms, with one student per room. Lockers will be provided, outside of the exam writing room, for personal belongings. Students will be monitored periodically through the window of the study room, but library staff do not stay in the room with students. Please confirm with your school or institution that these conditions match their exam proctoring requirements before booking an exam.
Exams may be written on:
- Mondays between the hours of 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM (finishing by 8:30 PM)
- Tuesdays between the hours of 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (finishing by 5:00 PM)
- Wednesdays between the hours of 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (finishing by 5:00 PM)
- Thursdays between the hours of 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (finishing by 4:00 PM)
We are unable to offer exam proctoring services on Fridays and weekends.
Exams may be booked up to 3 months ahead of time, and must be booked at least one week ahead of time. Last-minute bookings generally will not be accepted.
Please note that your institution may require more than 7 days' notice when booking an exam, so please check your institution's policy and plan accordingly.
A minimum 24 hours notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling of exams.
Effective July 4, 2022 all exam writers will be charged an invigilation fee of $25 per exam, as well as any additional costs incurred (printing, postage, etc.), to be paid on the day of the exam, prior to writing.

Alternatively, if you have your own laptop and only require a quiet room, you can use our online booking system to book a private study room for up to 2 hours. Please remember to check in upon arrival to avoid your room booking being automatically cancelled.

Please complete this form to submit your request. We will respond within 2-3 business days. The Okotoks Public Library reserves the right to refuse exam invigilation.
